Well nearly a week has gone by since we were at Belvoir Castle, and I think it about time I presented some photographs of a small selection of vintage tractors that were present. The first photograph is my little Ford 2000 Preforce, made in 1966.

Belvoir Castle Steam and Family Festival
On the glorious weekend of 22nd and 23rd May 2010, in the grounds of Belvoir Castle which is right on the border between Leicestershire and Lincolnshire, Paul Appleton and Phil Wing together with their team of section leaders and organisers held the popular annual event courtesy of course to the Duke of Rutland and his family, owners of the estate.
Like all events held in our climate we are subject to our wonderful weather systems, and this event in recent times has succumbed to exceedingly poor conditions. It was touch and go whether this event would run this year, and a slice of good weather and good fortune was needed. Although not fully recovered from previous episodes, I am sure that this last weekend has given Paul and Phil something to smile about.
Well done to you all, and I hope we can return next year.
I exhibited in an excellent tractor section run by Andy Watson, and what a magnificent display of tractors we had.
Here is a small selection of photographs I took.

NTET Training and Hands On Weekend
This last weekend, 8th and 9th May 2010, at the premises of S.E. Davis and Son, Astwood Bank, the NTET (National Traction Engine Trust) held a training course and hands on weekend for a number of students.
The weather of course was mixed but generally cold. Refreshments were provided during the day, and in the evening we all gathered together in the large marquee for food, drink and entertainment.
There were several engines of all types present, including those normally stationed at these premises.
There are some photographs on the facebook group page for the North Worcestershire Vintage Tractor and Engine Club, but I must also place a selection here for your enjoyment.

Brian Cawson Memorial Tractor Run
This last Sunday, the North Worcestershire Vintage Tractor and Engine Club help the 2nd Brian Cawson Memorial Tractor Run. Sadly we lost Brian just over one year ago.
Once again this was in aid of the Midland Air Ambulance.
Hosted by Maurice Allely, who himself was in hospital, we departed from his Haydon Way Farm near Studley to follow a 19 miles route, some of which was along 'green lanes', now filled with deep water in places from the previous nights heavy rain.
We all returned to the farm for light refreshments and warm soup, and a good time was had by all.
In the photographs we have Bernard Whitehouse with a later model Fordson Dexta towing passengers, then we have two of the S.E. Davis tractors with Seb Williams leading Miles Banks, and finally yours truly leading the parade down Spernal Lane from Haydon Way Farm. I am being followed by Geoff Lamb on an Allis Chalmers and behind Geoff is Neill Lobb with his little grey 'Fergie' complete with patriotic flags.
Pictures courtesy of Matty Bisp, thank you.
