Somerset Tractor Show

On the weekend of Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th February 2012, The Royal Bath and West Show ground at Shepton Mallet, Somerset hosted the Somerset Vintage Tractor Show.

Mainly held within the confines of show ground buildings, this is a remarkable show with some interesting examples of vintage tractors and memorabilia.

There was some doubt whether this event would continue next year, but we understand that new people have taken up the task and the show will go ahead as planned for 2013.

I decided to only take the little camera on this occasion, but here are some interesting photos for your enjoyment.

In the late 1940's and early 1950'2, Ransomes of Ipswich developed and built a range of market garden tractors. Not entirely sure if this is a MG2 or MG5, nobody was about to ask and I an not up to speed with this type of unit.

A Ferguson/Ford. Lovely restoration of this tractor and as you can see has some rosettes to go with it.

A fine example of a early Austin Tractor

There was a small but excellent display of Roadless Tractors

A fine example of a Fordson Dexta circa 1950's

A rather well used Ford 3000 complete with front loader. This is a Pre Force 6x Series model.

  1. The first photo reminds me of the “Choo Choo” train ride at the amusement park near my house. Haha! My kids love going there and it’s one of their fave rides. ;) Anyhow, I love the fact that the owners of these tractors really put in the effort in restoring these classics. These are real treasures!

  2. This is a good show to spend time with when visiting the place. You can check self catering cottages in Somerset. They give good services.
