East Lancs. Railway

Part of the East Lancs. Railway, is the Bury Transport Museum. Judging by its location and rails embedded in the Lancashire cobbles, it suggests that it was most likely an engine shed originally. However, here is a selection of photos taken on our recent visit.
A fine example of a Javelin Jowett, note the Scottish registration plate. In the back round, behind the railway carriage are the diesel engine sheds.

An overall shot of the museum, not long after taking this shot my left lens fell out of my glasses so we cut short the visit to find a suitable opticians in order to effect a temporary repair.

A lovely selection of station name plate from days of old.

This 'roller' has only been restored cosmetically.

A shot of the museum from the steps leading down from the car park, just opposite the station.
